At Isla’s Place, we believe every mother deserves more than just flowers — she deserves an experience. That’s exactly what happened on May 3rd at our Mother’s Day Tea: a delightful blend of elegance, inspiration, and playful surprises.
A Space Transformed
Each table was uniquely designed with pastel charm — lavender, pink, and soft green hues filled the room. Tiered stands held an array of tea-time treats: cucumber sandwiches, flaky chicken salad croissants, ladyfingers, wafer cookies, and buttery madeleines. At each place setting sat a whimsical paper teapot favor, with a honey lollipop — constructed (accidentally!) with the spout pouring downward. It was a laugh we didn’t know we needed.
Sips and Sweets
Tea and coffee were served throughout the event, with blends like passion fruit green tea with sugar and milk. Midway through, guests were treated to adorable chocolate cupcakes served in petite wine glasses — the perfect touch of sweet and fun.
Inspiration from the Heart
Tiffany Martin of Care.net joined us as a guest speaker and led a powerful reflective activity titled “What’s On Your Plate.” Her words resonated deeply as she encouraged guests to explore their life balance and self-care — earning her heartfelt applause from a room full of inspired women.
Games with a Twist
This tea party had more than just scones and sentiment. Clever raffle-style games were sprinkled throughout: who could take out a $2 dollar bill from their wallet fastest, lucky flyers with “PRIZE” written on it, hidden tickets under a random plate, and other classic raffle drawings. Cheers and laughter erupted with every win.
A Special Thanks
We extend a huge thank-you to the Antelope Valley Detachment 930 Marine Corps League. Two of their members graciously served tea and coffee to our guests — adding a special layer of care and class to the experience.
